No Need For Speed On The PC Until Spring

Electronic Arts’ reboot of the Need For Speed franchise has a lot riding on it….enough, perhaps, to necessitate a delay. There’s no need to panic, however — unless you play exclusively on the PC, because developer Ghost Games has delayed the PC version of the game until the spring of 2016, citing an inferior framerate as something that needs to be worked on.

Whether that’s reading your comments on Facebook or Twitter, watching your videos on YouTube, or joining in with the discussion on Reddit, the conversation we’ve been having as fans of Need for Speed is enormously important and we’re working to reflect it in the game we’re building.

Part of the conversation includes hearing from our PC community that an unlocked frame rate in Need for Speed is a massive priority for you, and we fully agree. To deliver this, we’ve made the decision to move the PC release date to Spring 2016. Our PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release dates will remain the same, starting November 3, 2015 in North America and November 5 worldwide.

It’ll take a while for the PC version to appear, but once it does, Ghost Games guarantees it’ll be instantly caught up: any content updates released for the game between its console launch and its PC debut will be included in the PC version. On all other machines, Need For Speed is still on track to launch November 3.
