Liberty City Gets a Neon Makeover in This Mod

Yes, people are still out there modding Grand Theft Auto 3. And the results are impressive.

This mod, XR Productions’ Liberty City Nights, had its latest version released just this weekend. It recasts Liberty City as the setting for a racing game in the style of Need For Speed Underground. It’s all so glowy and disco that it probably makes the mobsters feel really uncomfortable.

The tech got a major upgrade, too with 2048×2048 HD textures, new particle and lighting effects, and a new user interface. Plus there are new cars if you ever get tired of the Banshee.
