Beach Buggy Racing 2 Targeting Summer Release
Which new racing games will be announced during the 2018 Game Developers Conference? GRIP was revealed this morning, followed by Beach Buggy Racing 2. What’s the latter game like?
The original Beach Buggy Racing was an off-road FTP kart competition. 70 million people downloaded the first game and soon there will be a second.
With over 50 powerups to discover and upgrade, Beach Buggy Racing 2 adds a layer of strategic depth to the classic kart racing formula. Players collect abilities like “Chain Lightning”, “Donut Tires” and “Killer Bees”; customize strategic load-outs of powerups, cars and characters; and then test their skills and abilities online against other players from around the world.
Here’s the interesting thing about Beach Buggy Racing 2: you’ll be able to win things by playing. And we don’t just mean in-game items….development studio Vector Unit is working in tandem with Amazon. “We knew we wanted tournaments and community to sit at the heart of BBR2,” says Vector Unit CEO Matt Small. “Amazon GameOn offers a perfect way for our players to compete against each other in fun, leaderboard-style tournaments to win unique unlocks and prizes.”
Currently, there’s no specific release date for Beach Buggy Racing 2, but Vector Unit is aiming to get it completed sometime this summer. Once the mobile version is done, they’ll turn their attention to a console version, which they hope to complete late this year.
